Marion Leeds Carroll

Stage/Artistic Director

Marion is the founder of Living Room Opera/Opera Lirica del Soggiorno. She was originally its producer as well, and has also taken an active role in music direction. She's very pleased to have two excellent colleagues to share the work, so that she can concentrate on stage direction. Marion holds degrees from Barnard College (Columbia University) and the Mannes College of Music in New York, and has been active as a singer and as stage director for opera, theater and Gilbert and Sullivan in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey and Minnesota.

Juliet Cunningham

Music Director

This is Juliet's second year as music director for the workshop, but she is hardly a newcomer to the world of opera! Her own company, Janus Opera, performs fully staged and costumed productions of operas and operettas and has been hired by such organizations as Boston First Night, Lexington Last Night, The Concert Cruise, the DeCordova Museum, and the Marblehead Arts Festival. She is also quite busy as an accompanist for singers, and as music director for the Boston Church of the New Jerusalem.

Nancy Burstein

Producer, Rehearsal Pianist

Nancy has been a member of LRO since its inception, and producer and assistant rehearsal pianist since 1998. Her love and knowledge of opera, her musical and linguistic skills, and her 20 years of professional experience as a project manager and analyst at Abt Associates, Inc. provide welcome leverage for the artistic talents of Juliet and Marion.

Janice Dallas

Costume Coordinator

Janice, who has been performing with LRO for several years, is much sought after as costumer for local groups. She serves as Costume Rental Agent for the Sudbury Savoyards, and runs her own theatrical design and construction company with her husband, Ron, who also provides lighting for our performance.
